Ruth H. McKeown

Ruth H. McKeown, 86, of May Street, Wrentham, died on February 5, 2012 at the Norwood Hospital in Norwood.  She was the beloved widow of Thomas P. McKeown who predeceased her on September 7, 2011 and to whom she was married for 62 years.

Born in Boston on June 5, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Eid and Asma Kanaan.  A former West Roxbury resident, she was a graduate of the Boston Public Schools.  She had been employed as a secretary for the US Government.

A Wrentham resident for over fifty years, she had been an active communicant at St. Mary’s Church.  She and her late husband lovingly raised their children in the King Philip Regional School district, and she loved attending her children’s sporting events.  She very much enjoyed swimming, and loved to travel.  California was one of her favorite places to visit.  She also liked to knit, sew, and cook.  She enjoyed homemaking.

She is survived by her loving children, Michael and his wife
Tami McKeown of Charlotte, NC, Timothy G. and his wife Laura McKeown of Tacoma, WA, Joyce Robinson of Nobleboro, ME, and Patricia Ruth McKeown, with whom she made her home.  She was the dear sister of Linda Clements of VA, and Pearl Daley of Boston.  She also leaves eight dear grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation from 7:45-8:45 AM on Friday, in the RJ Ross Funeral Home, 135 South Street, Wrentham Centre.  Her Funeral Mass in St. Mary’s Church, 140 South Street, Route 1A, Wrentham Centre at 9AM will follow.  Burial will be in Wrentham Centre Cemetery.

Arrangements are in the care of the Richard J. Ross and the RJ Ross Funeral Home, Wrentham Centre.
