Catherine Mary Sears

Catherine Mary Sears, 89, of Creek Street, Wrentham, died on February 7, 2013, in the Norwood Hospital. She was the beloved widow of Alfred R. Sears, to whom she was married on September 22, 1951 and who predeceased her in 1982. Born in Boston on August 20, 1923, she was a dear daughter of the late Henry J. and Margaret (Hickey) Wood. She attended Boston schools, and was a graduate of the Hyde Park High School. A homemaker for most of her life, she loved to revolve her life around her family. She loved to be included in all of the events that were important to her children and grandchildren. Family was indeed everything to her. She also enjoyed knitting and was an avid reader. She is survived by her loving children, Robert Sears of Mont Vernon, NH, Paul J. Sears of Methuen, James “Jim” Sears of Walpole, and Elizabeth “Beth” Bradley of Methuen, and a close family friend John Hanbury. She was the dear sister of William Wood of Dedham, and the late Francis Wood and Henry “Spike” Wood, and was the devoted grandmother of seven grandchildren. Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the RJ Ross Funeral Home, 135 South Street, Route 1A, Wrentham Centre, on Wednesday from 4-7 PM. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday at 9 AM, in St. Mary’s Church, 140 South Street, Route 1A, Wrentham Centre. Burial will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, West Roxbury. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box11454, Alexandria, VA 22312 Arrangements are in the care of Richard Ross and the RJ Ross Funeral Home, Wrentham Centre.
